Foremost, acknowledgement goes to Elma Weil Ettman, principal founder of the Sustainable Arts Society at Blue Ridge, not only for her dedication, perseverance and commitment to the idea of an artist community in Blue Ridge, but for making her home, the Cochran-Davenport farm, the initial home of the residency program, for offering her talents to the creation of the organization- serving as Board Chair and for the financial support to implement the dream.
